Two figures re-edit themselves across a wall, a back and forth, a cut, reverse, re-wind, a constant disruption is performed on their bodies. Through their handling of time, multiple narratives appear and disappear, illogical relations are made and remade. It is the series of situations emerging that illicit a kind of soft butch cruising but it’s their insistence on detail that reads as perverse.

Dans, for Satan (Dance, dammit) is a humorous reflection on the issues of sex and sexuality, and being trapped in one’s own starting point. This expressive solo performance by Norwegian dance artist Hilde I. Sandvold aims to discuss issues in what one can call ‘the post equated society’, where many of us grow up being told that women and men can do the same thing: that is, exactly whatever they want.
Hilde I. Sandvold is an Aerowaves artist. DANS, FOR SATAN (DANCE, DAMMIT) is co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.
