Technique / style:
Garuda Barre uses a combination of yoga, pilates and Tai Chi. With the support of the barre, counter balance and stretches will support a healthy core and body. The aim of Garuda Barre is to encourage rhythm and fluidity into your dance practice whilst also developing a strong, healthy back.

Class description: Open Level
Open Level is suitable for anyone who has had over a years’ experience in either contemporary dance or ballet. Championing personal development, the focus in this class is less on technique and more on the individual quality and style of movement. 

Artist’s biography:
Akane has an MA in Contemporary Dance from London Contemporary Dance School and is also qualified Pilates teacher.  She has performed in England, Germany and Japan and worked with Maika Klaukien, Andy Papas, Genau and Japanese contemporary dance company Maikobo. Akane was invited by Shiho Kanazawa Dance Company in Nagoya to teach and direct performances. She has started a new dance company, Dance Theatre Red, with composer and musician Trimmer and is currently choreographing a major new work to be performed in Japan in 2018.
