Class description

This course is designed for participants aged 60 and over with some dance experience. These carefully planned, fun and engaging sessions will use Limón, Release and Improvisation techniques. 

The course will enable dancers to build strength and to develop their technique and musicality at an appropriate pace and level. 

Please note that this course is NOT for complete beginners. This course will run for 11 weeks from Thursday 28 Sep – Thursday 7 December 2017 and is available as a term enrolment or on a drop-in basis.

Artist’s biography

Katie Scott trained at the Northern School of contemporary dance and went on to perform with Loop Dance Company for 8 years, working with choreographers, Rashpal Singh Bansal, Jonzi D and Filip Van Huffel of Retina Dance company.

Katie worked for the Places Classes and Courses for 12 years teaching a range of ages, and for Richard Alston dance Company’s education department

Katie has extensive experience of working with a wide Range of ages and abilities. Having had a keen interested on youth projects with challenged young people with emotional and behavioural issues. Katie’s classes are influenced by Cunningham, Limon and release technique.

Katie is a therapist in Sports Massage, medical Acupuncture and Craniosacral Biodynamics.
