It is interested in atmospheric yieldings, of being inside/outside/caught between choreographed and characterised poetic, suspended encounters. It is caught somewhere between a supernatural gothic thriller, a 90’s sci-fi spider lair, a dreamscape for uncovered sexualities, a grouping to discuss threat/the phobic/ otherness. It is a workshop for consent and boundaries. a haunted regional working class lesbian bar, or another version of things.

About Eve Stainton
Eve Stainton is a movement artist inspired by the complexities of uncodeable, poetic queer encounters. This manifests through practices of dancing/digital collage/ connecting with community/skewing edges.
Her/their movement approaches are informed by somatic philosophies and favour imaginative textures over prescribed shapes layered onto the body. Eve’s practice often takes the form of intimate collaborations exploring desire and vulnerability as a technology or force against restrictive normative constructs.
Since 2016 Eve has also been collaborating with artist Florence Peake, with their most recent work Apparition Apparition being commissioned for the Venice Biennale 2019.
Commissioned by The Place following a Choreodrome 2019 commission Funded by Arts Council England Support from Metal Special thanks to Michael Kitchin and Florence Peake for continued creative and energetic support.
Venue: at The Place
