All professional classes at The Place are intended for high-level dancers only. These classes offer professional dancers an opportunity to maintain their skills and abilities, network with other professionals and even maybe find new projects to work on.
If you are an amateur dancer, there are lots of other opportunities for you to engage with. Browse our adult classes programme for more information.
These classes require professional standards from participants and early arrival is required for warm up.
Becky’s training began in tae kwan do and gymnastics before training in hip-hop, later discovering contemporary and capoeira; her movement is influenced by all of these styles.
Working across commercial dance to art installation, Becky’s experience creates a wholesome practice, incorporating physically challenging and disciplined training which later transforms into movement initiated from emotion and staying connected to the music, as well as considering performance.
Originally from Cheshire, Becky is a dancer and choreographer based in London. She is currently DanceXchange Choreography Award holder for spring 2018 and is also proud to be a panel member of Woman SRSLY, a female ran platform for female led performance work, curated by Grace Nicol.
As a dancer, she has worked with Marianne Elliot for Angels in America at National Theatre; Marion Motin; Mickael Marso Riviere; Holly Blakey; and Eddie Peake, to name a few. She is featured in commercials and music videos for Dior, Dua Lipa and Klyne,
Becky is one of four choreographers to collaborate with Hofesh Shechter on East Wall in July 2018, an outdoor dance performance at Tower of London, produced by East London Dance and Hofesh Shechter Company. Her works Like Honey and Exhibit F have been performed at venues across the UK and her recent work RodaDoras will begin outdoor touring this summer, supported by Arts Council England and Offsite Seed Commission.
Becky delivers workshops nationally and internationally for various groups, including professional dancers and young people and is a guest lecturer at University of Wolverhampton, specialising in technique and repertoire modules.
