Resolution, the most anticipated event of The Place’s calendar returns!

This year 66 artists across 22 nights showcase bite-size premiere performances at London’s boldest dance theatre. Don’t miss the ultimate pick ‘n’ mix festival of live theatre!

Alice Labant and Gordon Raeburn - Rebooted Facets

This work is about heritage and is inspired by the Surrealist will to highlight the fragmented functioning of the human mind. Rebooted Facets has been composed from the idea of a Repertoire Abécédaire. Weaving an eclectic patchwork made from familiar choreographic segments, taking momentum from the Hip Hop sampling process. By including chance in the process there is a wish to recognise how some parameters of our existence are always out of our control. As a whole an emerging narrative can be interpreted between the characters throughout Rebooted Facets.

EQ Dance Co - Sanctuary (Excerpt)

This piece is an excerpt from our upcoming dance theatre production Sanctuary that the company has been developing over the past two years through the pandemic era. The need for sanctuary we felt was pretty evident especially in the first year of Covid19. Financially, emotionally, physically it felt everyone became vulnerable as a collective all at once as we were but into lockdowns and restrictions. Sanctuary is a response to this as well as being a universal thing that all humans search for, and this excerpt focuses on the spiritual element. Sanctuary in others, human connection, community.

Rosie Russell - This has been my TED Talk…

We all experience life but it is altered by how our brain understands, processes and deal with it. In this Dance X Stand up performance, Rosie becomes the subject of her own experiment to discover and explore what makes her tick. Let’s hope she can make it through this 20 minute lecture in one piece. A humorous tale about what it is to be a human and a TED Talk unlike any other you will have seen before.

Duration: 20mins
