Zhi XU is a choreographer, dancer and researcher. He has created more than 20 works touring world-wide in China, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Canada, Russia, Belgium, Malaysia and Israel. Zhi graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Beijing Dance Academy (2008) and a master from the University of Roehampton (2017). He joined one of China’s most prestigious events as an independent director at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games Opening Ceremony.

How long could you spend alone?
This enigmatic solo invites us into the world of a hermit. Using dance, text and live music, it tenderly explores a life of solitude.
Charlie Hendren is a dancer/actor/musician and choreographer. He graduated from London Contemporary Dance School in 2012 and has been performing and creating work for both himself and dance/theatre companies ever since.
A Light in the Backwoods is an intimate solo that tenderly invites us into the life of a hermit. It follows a single character who lives alone and begins to be taunted by memories and characters from his past. He navigates his way through landscapes, dreams and visions whilst an array of soundscapes and musical compositions develop on stage. Eventually he must question the cost of his chosen life.

Declan is a choreographer and dancer from the UK. He has shown work at Birmingham International Dance Festival, The Royal Opera House, Kunsthal Charlottenborg (Copenhagen) and Stockholm Screen Dance Festival. He has performed with National Dance Company Wales, Martin Forsberg and Helena Waldmann.
