Adventurous. Athletic. Absorbing.

VERVE presents an exhilarating programme of bold new dance work created by internationally-acclaimed choreographers Hannes Langolf (Germany) and Sita Ostheimer (Germany), a reworking of the award-winning Riders by Lenka Vagnerová (Czech Republic) and a new work by VERVE Artistic Director Matthew Robinson (UK).

Experience an evening of refreshingly original dance, performed by dance artists on the cusp of their professional careers.

VERVE is the postgraduate performance company of Northern School of Contemporary Dance (NSCD). The company comprises fourteen dancers trained at some of the world’s most prestigious dance schools and tours extensively across the UK and Europe.

  • Riders - Lenka Vagnerová
Riders draws inspiration from birds and the role they have played in our culture and traditions. Vagnerová reworks this powerful, critically acclaimed work for the fourteen dancers of VERVE.
  • NOBODY ‘CEPT YOU - Sita Ostheimer
“Why are you drawn to watch me?”
NOBODY ‘CEPT YOU is a game of images, situations and feelings built on rhythm, sound and light. With space for awe and wonder, the work guides audiences through their own emotional worlds.
  • wolf - Hannes Langolf
wolf draws on clichés of pretence, bravado and strength, in order to explore how celebrating vulnerability can become a liberating act of fragile courage.
  • NEVERSINK - Matthew Robinson
Physically poetic and emotionally arresting, NEVERSINK is a reminder to embrace transformation, to dare to dream. A vivid, cinematic work for the entire company.

“A very talented cast…strong personalities.”
