Nature VS Culture

Slovenian choreographer Viki Čerček and French composer William Legares, collaborate on LEADS, an introspective work about the struggle between collective behavior and personal beliefs.

It combines powerful music, mixed form choreography and theatre to create a cinematic feel. The flutist narrates the scene and emotion dictates physicality.

LEADS is about finding our way through the rhythms of life and mankind.

Wilhelmina Ojanen
common ground

A poetic piece on the importance of trust despite our differences, common ground acts as a robust reminder that empathy is what moves us through life.

A poetic piece on the importance of trust despite our differences, common ground acts as a robust reminder that empathy is what moves us through life.

Wilhelmina Ojanen presents her inaugural group work created for a cast of four performers, set to an atmospheric score by Andrew Marriott. The first section of this piece was originally created as part of the Young Associates programme for Sadler’s Wells, whilst the second section is developed for its premiere at Resolution Festival 2019.

In this piece, the performers embark on an exhilarating journey of falling together and carrying one another in order to continue moving forward no matter what. common ground is a celebration of collective effort and perseverance that invites the audience to consider experiences of commonality and interconnectedness.

‘’…makes for joyous viewing with some beautifully executed contact improvisation moments…’’

BDblaq Dance
Cool Breeze

Cool Breeze by BDblaq Dance/Rikkai Scott and composer Jean Pierre, is set in a gritty 80’s city pub right in the middle of the technology surge. This culture clash will shape the stories and drive the narrative of communication, interaction, identity and the journey we call life.

Established in 2015, BDblaq Dance was founded by Artistic Director Rikkai Scott based in London, United Kingdom. BDblaq’s signature style is tap-fusion dance, which is rooted in traditional forms, yet it combines elements of non-traditional movement in contemporary dance.

BDblaq Dance recently finished their debut international tour in 2018 performing their duet piece SENSE choreographed by Rikkai Scott and company member Ashley Goosey. SENSE explored the senses within a blind world which was inspired by the Royal National Institute of The Blind. The piece travelled to various theatre’s in the UK and Valencia, Spain as part of Festival 10 Sentidos as the top 10 finalists and Earl Cameron Theatre (City Hall) in Bermuda.
