Vinyasa means “to place with special awareness and intention.” A popular form of modern yoga, the movement practised is continuous, smooth and unbroken. The pace will be steady and poses will be held for numerous breaths. Emphasis is placed on harmonising the movements of the body and breath in creative sequences.
Open Level is suitable for anyone who has had over a years’ experience in either contemporary dance or ballet. Championing personal development, the focus in this class is less on technique and more on the individual quality and style of movement.
Eryck’s years as a professional dancer with some of the UK’s top companies has given him a deep understanding of the body, flow, movement as a meditation and anatomical understanding. Trained as a yoga teacher under Claire Missingham’s watchful eye, students can expect deep yoga assists, great sequencing and traditional roots of yoga using Sanskrit, krama vinyasa, use of precise and detailed anatomical alignment and uplifting music.
